Proof being optimistic works.

I can’t even fully describe how happy I am right now. I had an interview at a law firm in the city earlier today, and as of a few hours ago I’ll be interning there over the summer! I can’t even. Just ahhhh!! I kept telling myself even when I felt like complete shit that everything is going to work out. I’ll admit, I didn’t always fully believe myself, but I always kept an ounce of hope back in my head that I would do something more than Target this summer. And with extreme fortune, this amazing opportunity came along and I’m so completely grateful I’m having this opportunity.

It’s finally happening!

For a while now, I’ve been wanting to go back to my high school and talk about the importance of going to college and leaving our town. Not to just the fifty honor society members along with the twenty other alumni coming back fighting to speak, but to all the 3600 sophomores through seniors that make up Brentwood High School. Whenever I’ve been back home, I went back up to my high school and said how much I wanted to do this, and how I thought this would be a possible way to maybe encourage a handful of students to want to go to college. They all brushed me off with “yeah that’s great, I’ll get back to you.” But I kept on coming back every break, and emailing them. And with the amazing help of my guidance counselor, my high school finally agreed to having the assembly I will organize.

Three great friends are visiting me from back home for the weekend!

I haven’t seen them since August, and I’m so pumped to see them! They completely understand my ridiculously loud talking-cringe-worthy-grammar-and-slang-combined-with-excessive-hand-motions-when-I’m-hyped behavior. AHHHH can’t wait to see them in a few hours!!!

My sisters just came home with a ton of stuff for my going-away party.

All I have to say is it’s gonna be a awesomeamazinghilariousfun night with the greatest family and friends I could have. 

I just realized at this time next month, it’ll be my last night at home.

If I ever told my family, they would be balling right now. I’m beyond excited to go, but freaking so scared to leave.

Finally Sorted!!

I legit cannot help but say “sorted” and “house” instead of “placed” and “residential college.” The long wait for roommates and residential college assignments has finally ended and I’m going to be in the best college! Trumbull College! More excited than ever for August! 51 more til Cultural Connections. 57 until Move-In Day. 

Teachers

I came back from visiting my fourth grade teacher, and I had a great time talking to her class and catching up with her. It was nice seeing her for most likely the last time before I leave for college. Although it was good seeing her, what stood out today was how literally crazy teachers got once the last bus left the school. As soon as all the teachers waved by, and the school year was officially over, the teachers went insane. They: 

Screamed out the top of their lungs

Shouted like the won the lotto

Danced up and down the hallways

Freak, even one of them did a damn cart wheel!

Never knew teachers could be so excited for the last day of school more than the students hahaa
