Sophomore Year
It happens.
(I love/miss my friends already)
My suitemates are throwing yet another party that I’m missing and I love/hate them for it.
It happens.
Not only did I have lunch with President Leonel Fernández, former president of the Dominican Republic, but also performed for him and danced merengue alongside him today!
For the second year in a row, my suite almost got screwed over for housing, but once again we’re getting an awesome deal. Despite us getting annexed to Vandy, we’ll be leaving in a quint with three of us! We’re all getting singles, we’ll have a huge ass common room, and the double none of us are living in will be our office with all our desks! I definitely don’t mind getting annexed anymore hahaa
where has this book been all my life ;_;
enserio buy this book it’s so good we need more boricua scientists. it’s super accessible si puedes leer en espanol
Daniel Colón Ramos is a prof at the Yale Med School! He is such an awesome guy, and it’s so great to know a Boricua in his position that is so down to earth and cares so much about working with the Puerto Rican undergrads on campus.
Off to the Dominican Republic! Reach Out-Yspaniola let’s go! (at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK))
Word has it that we’ll be getting a bit more snow over the next few days, but the good news is that spring is just around the corner, as you can see from this gorgeous photo from yesterday, submitted by Philipp Arndt ‘16.
On Friday, February 22, La Casa closed its campaign week with a showcase at Ezra Stiles College’s Crescent Theater. The event featured performances from various groups registered within the cultural center, such as Ballet Folklórico, Sabrosura, and ¡Oye! Spoken Word.
However, the showcase also aimed to display the wide diversity of skills and interests even within Yale’s Latino community. Therefore, the audience enjoyed acts from a variety of other performance groups in which Latino students are involved, including Rangeela (a fusion Bollywood dance team), Pitches & Tones (Yale’s newest a capella group), Konjo (the West African dance troupe), and the Yale Ballroom Dance team. What a night!

So happy with how well the show ended up going! Organizing it was so stressful, but totally worth it!
“I looked up to the sky! And what did I see!? I saw the 13 Knights looking down on me! They took my hand, and said understand, you’re a brother like no other, YOU’RE A LAMBDA MAN!”
Proud Hermano of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated! I could not be happier to have revived the Kappa Chapter here at Yale with my Line Brothers. ¡La Unidad Para Siempre!
So excited for next Monday thank you Yale!
