I’m walking out the supermarket before I went to work, and I passed a guy that immediately put his head down when we made eye contact. He was my best friend. We were great friends when we were little. We stopped talking as much as we got older , but still did that usual “hi, bye” stuff when we saw each other. I don’t care that we don’t talk anymore, but to completely ignore and act like you didn’t see me is just fucked up; point blank. That’s actually a big pet peeve of mine. If I know you in some way or another, even if I don’t talk to you, I’ll at least give you a smile when we pass. I understand that not all people are like that, but if we talk I think it’s common etiquette (or simply not being a dick) to just glance and wave, smile, do something that shows some sort of greeting! I don’t know, nice things that people can do that they don’t bother me; I guess it’s just me. In the end I made up for it though. Being the type of person who actually acknowledges people I know, I made sure when I passed him I smiled big and yelled “HI!” as I made direct eye contact with him. He got flustered and didn’t respond. That definitely felt better than just shouting out “fuck you.”
i know i’ve been wearing Yale shirts rather frequently lately, but that’s not my whole wardrobe -__-;; i seriously only bought “so many” because i had a cool discount there. ALSO, it’s not an attempt to put down others or show off. i just like my school, damn it.
I seriously hate it. Whenever I wear a Yale shirt, someone is quick to accuse me of showing off, but when I wore my Middlebury sweater or Pomona sweats, I got no reaction. Ridiculous. If you really know me, I would never do that.
“So let me say this as clearly as I can — the United States is not and will never be at war with Islam. Osama was not a Muslim leader. He was a mass murderer of Muslims.”—President Obama, May 1st, 2011 (via omgitsalexlee)
It was such a nice day today. I don’t know what made us do it, but my dad, sister, and I went outside and tossed a frisbee around to enjoy the nice weather. I learned my dad used to play ultimate when he was a teen, my sister is amazing (as usual with any sport she plays), and I’m just a massive failure at throwing a frisbee (I was finally able to get the hang of it in the end though!). I loved it. I don’t remember the last time I played a game with my family. I missed it. Days like this makes me realize how much I miss being younger, playing in the grass and the streets for hours on end, not thinking about anything complicated or anything for that matter that wasn’t in that moment. It doesn’t make me entirely sad though. It makes me remember how much I loved my childhood.
